Welcome to Ashdown Manna Cookery School

We are a small independent cookery school, offering inspirational half and full day courses from our converted barn in Blackham, East Sussex, on the edge of the beautiful Ashdown Forest. If you are looking to learn new recipes and techniques, or just brush up on your existing culinary skills, we offer over 30 different courses, suitable for all levels of ability.

All of our courses are taught by experienced professional chefs who ensure your day is both fun and informal. With a maximum group size of 8-10 students per course, individual attention is always assured. We supply recipe cards, ingredients, aprons and even a kitchen assistant to wash up for you!

Ashdown Manna Cookery School.

We have a great team of chefs, offering over 30 different courses to suit all tastes using locally sourced fresh ingredients. No matter what your foodie passion is, whether it is Bread Baking, Sushi Rolling or classic French Cookery, we have a course that will fit your needs and take your cookery skills to the next level.

Our professional chefs are able to provide plenty of individual attention on our hands-on courses and we take care of everything, including pre-weighing ingredients and washing and clearing up, so you can concentrate on what matters most – cooking!

We are also an authorised Dealer for Big Green Egg and during the Summer months offer hands on courses for this popular Kamado style of outdoor cooking. These courses are great for anyone with a Kamado style BBQs and are interested in the wide variety of dishes you can cook over coals, from slow cooked pieces of meat, to pizzas, charred veggies and even desserts.
